Every staff member of CUHK is given the access to CUPIS to initiate various personnel services requests as well as to update and view his/her relevant personal / employment / payroll records.

A supervisor in CUPIS is shouldered with the responsibility to approve various personnel services requests raised by his/her supervisee(s) as well as to conduct performance review for supervisee(s) to facilitate Heads of D/Us in making the respective HR decisions. Each colleague is assigned with one supervisor in CUPIS.

Functional Administrators in CUPIS are staff members who are assigned the responsibility for handling respective personnel and payroll functions for the Department/Unit.

The Chief Administrator of a Department/Unit is responsible for assigning department staff to handle respective personnel and payroll functions in CUPIS by giving him/her the related Functional Administrator roles.
